Randy Friedman
Competing in and teaching different competitive sports, early on in racquetball and later in golf, led to Randy’s study in visualization and mind power. The moment she realized she could help people learn these skills, implement them into goals, and improve their golf and life, she began teaching the mental game to all of her students. When she left the country club business to create her company, Golf Mind Power, her philosophy to help golfers get out of their own way, became a reality.
A deep desire to educate and enlighten people led Randy to develop empowerment corporate keynotes and country club workshops. Randy has a passion for her career that is evident the moment she takes the stage. Every presentation is unforgettable, filled with inspiration that allows people to explore the depths of their imaginations. Her book, Your Inner Swing will change the lives of those who read it. When the fire is ignited within, one no longer goes without.
Hi, my name is Randy Friedman, and my mission is to help you perform your very best, inside… and out. There is a higher level in all of us where the controls of mind power exist. It’s up to you to explore the heart of the matter inside of you.
Whether you are a beginning golfer or club champion, working to get your Tour card, or already out there, Your Inner Swing is the right place to be.

Although this site is called “Golf Mind Power”, it will go beyond your golf and into your life! Through the years of playing, competing and teaching golf, I’ve learned many life lessons. These lessons parallel life physically, mentally and spiritually. We are all faced with challenges throughout our life that either make us stronger or leave us wondering what happened. Let me help you grow stronger with each challenge you are faced with.
FROM THE BEGINNING
I’ve always had a passion for helping others gain personal growth. My goal is to help you get the very best out of your golf game. Amongst other things I am an LPGA Teaching Professional, Certified Hypnotherapist, Mind Coach, Speaker and Author. The combination allows me help many different people. I’ve had the immense pleasure to teach 5 year old little golfers, 25 year old PGA Tour players, and 85 year old past club champions.
My background is as varied as a golf course terrain. Born with an athletic passion! Tennis was the first sport I played as a kid. But I really took to Racquetball at age 9, loved to practice and excelled fairly quickly. I would spend hours on the court by myself hitting shot after shot. (The automatic ball return made it easy!)
My Dad, being an incredible athlete from the streets of Brooklyn, played every racquet sport there was, and he was great at them all. He taught me the rules, techniques, secret tips and strategies of playing the game to win.
I now realize this is where my Mind Power first developed. I learned discipline, etiquette, endurance and the importance of physical training. From my first lesson with Dad at a YMHA in NY at age 9, to the first time I taught an adult group lesson at Winning Walls in Port Chester at age 15, those six years were incredibly significant in creating my communication skills to myself and others.
Although it took literally years for me to beat my Dad on the racquetball court, I now realize why! It was my own self-limiting beliefs that were holding me back. I didn’t “believe” I could beat him. Now whether he said “you’ll never beat me” out loud was irrelevant, I somehow heard…
“I’ll never beat him, he’s just too good”. I am sure me losing to him over and over (when I really wasn’t good enough) created my own self-talk, “I’ll never beat him”. It wasn’t until I started telling myself “I am getting better and better at this game”, that my confidence level increased and allowed me to get out of my own way!
I don’t remember when I actually did beat him, but I remember being pleased with my own internal victory. I learned right then and there it wasn’t about beating my Dad, it was all about me.
“I got out of my own way”, and allowed myself to be the best I could be at that moment!
I went on to play on the WIRT (Women’s International Racquetball Tour) for many years. When I retired ranked 4th in the world, I realized what a great trip it had been and it was time to move on. During the summer months just after college, I started playing golf with a friend.
Bobby Miller, a local golf pro in the Met section, who belonged to the racquetball club where I taught, offered to get me started with some clubs. There I went off with a set of clubs to the local municipal 18 hole executive golf course and played. Ok, golf… not like any other sport.
Don’t do what I did… take lessons first!
Being an athlete is helpful for most other sports, “but golf is a horse of a different color!” I eventually did take lessons to get me set in right direction, and what a difference the right clubs, instruction and beliefs make in golf… but that is an article in itself! (Check inside for more!)
I studied Communication Arts in college, earing my Bachelors in Fine Arts with a major in Television. I went back to school and acquired my New York State Massage Therapy license. From the time I was a kid I always had a fascination with the human body. I also had a big “a ha moment” when I realized I can help a lot of people feel good with this knowledge, and that made me feel really good! It was the first time I realized I enjoy making a difference in peoples lives.
During that same time I added Personal Training to my business. Since I do believe in the saying, “practice what you preach”, I was doing my own fitness and weight training and entered three Body Building shows during that time. Talk about a challenge on the body and mind… 24 hours a day! You eat, sleep and think what you are putting in and building on your body. Body building definitely enhanced my Mind Power! It gave me complete belief in myself by constructing and sculpting my body physically, mentally, and emotionally from the inside out. Each show I did gave me that much more education on myself, and empowerment for my success in life.
I don’t tell you about me to impress you, it’s more of validation of what I know, how I became an expert in what I do, and how I help people get out of their own way. The information on my site as well as my keynotes, presentations and mind coaching are all a result of years of becoming and believing in my self. My ultimate goal is to Educate, Enlighten and Empower you… and to help you get out of your own way! With an open mind and appreciation for all you have, you can perform inside and out, and achieve whatever you believe.
I believe in you! Welcome and thanks for sharing your thoughts!
